My Story

I earned my first Associate of Arts from Columbus State Community College at 18, and later graduated summa cum laude with a second Associate of Arts (concentration in English Language/Literature) from the University of Cincinnati Blue Ash. Initially unsure of my professional path, I explored literature, professional writing, and educational courses to refine my skills and versatility as a writer. Along the way, I discovered a profound love for English, particularly professional and creative writing, and a passion for wanting to teach.

I have completed internships in fields such as Career Services, Marketing, Technical & Grant Writing, and Publishing, and I am looking to expand my experience even further. Just to name a few things I've learned along my journey, I have done 1:1 resume and job-search strategy workshops with college students, have given tours to over 1,000 students for summer orientations and previews, and have been responsible for proofreading and ranking poetry manuscripts.

These experiences, with many more to come, hopefully, have solidified my desire to consider a multitude of career pathways, one that centers itself, at least partially, around writing. I am committed to advancing my skills through more education, certifications, and work experiences.

Professional Goals

My goal is to continue gaining experience as a professional across multiple fields to build a diverse, unique skill set that I can bring to any company. This includes continuing to grow myself as a better writer, analyst, editor, technical writer, and advocate. I love gaining experience, knowledge, and depth across many fields. My ultimate goal, for now, is to work in a variety of capacities to leverage my current skills in English, Marketing, Grant & Technical Writing, Publishing, and more.

My long-term goal is to become a college English professor and to head to graduate school for a master's degree (I'm currently considering an MFA, MBA, M.eD, or others!) and for a doctorate in Rhetoric & Composition. Each day is a new challenge for me, and I embrace continuing to push myself beyond my limits as I discover more hidden gems in day-to-day life and have the opportunity to continue my education at the University of Cincinnati.

In my free time...

Outside of my educational and professional endeavors, I can be found in many places: I can be found hidden in the record stacks at Plaid Room Records, in Columbus, OH, visiting my mother and her six cats, reviewing albums on the RateYourMusic site, listening to music of all kinds while at the gym, and many more. I am a writer who has lived a myriad of lives and identities.

Some people may say that I'm everywhere, and that may be true. I am also a photographer and open-mic enthusiast, both within and without the university.

This photo was taken during the first philanthropy event I attended for my fraternity, Tau Kappa Epsilon. The Lambda Gamma chapter of TKE donated a significant amount of money to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital through our philanthropy.
